A husband owes his wife maintenance under a valid contract if she has surrendered herself to him, even constructively. Article 74 of Law 51 of 1984. Maintenance is a right for the husband's confinement; it is not forfeited unless her refusal to comply with a final judgment requiring her to enter into obedience to him is established.
