The criterion for the court's adherence to the limits of the claims submitted to it is the final claims. - The judge's ratification of a settlement—in matters other than those relating to public policy—conclusively resolves the dispute. - The litigants' requesting that their settlement agreement concerning financial rights arising from the marriage contract be recorded - 393 - Personal Status in a manner not contrary to public policy. This conclusively resolves the dispute and it may not be appealed. The judgment's adherence thereto. No defect.
