Publication of Personal Status Law No. 51/84 in the Official Gazette on 23/7/1984. Its effect. Everyone is presumed to have knowledge of it, and no plea of ignorance of its provisions shall be accepted from anyone from that date. Example. Concerning a father’s marrying off his daughter without her consent, in contravention of this law.
