Publication of Personal Status Law No. 51/1984 in the Official Gazette on 23/7/1984. Its effect. Everyone is presumed to know it, and no one’s plea of ignorance of its provisions is accepted from that date. Example. Concerning a father marrying off his daughter without her consent in violation of this law.
