Judicial principle — Kuwait Court of Cassation

Kuwait Court of Cassation principle number 1506

State of Kuwait · Pleadings — Part Two · Ministry of Justice — Court of Cassation — Technical Office

English translation of the principle

A lawyer represents only the person whose representation he has expressly accepted and for whom he has established his authority before the court. Such representation does not extend to other parties, even if the lawyer holds a power of attorney to represent such a party, so long as he has not declared that he represents him.
