Article 167 of Constitution of the State of Kuwait

The Public Prosecution shall conduct public prosecutions in the name of society, supervise judicial police affairs, and ensure the application of penal laws, the pursuit of offenders, and the enforcement of judgments. The law shall establish this body, regulate its competence, and specify the conditions and safeguards particular to those appointed to its offices. Public security authorities may, by law, be entrusted with conducting public prosecutions in misdemeanours by way of exception and in accordance with the procedures specified by law.
