Article 127 of Personal Status Law

The court must make every effort to reconcile the spouses. If reconciliation is impossible and harm is established, separation between them shall be decreed by one irrevocable divorce. If harm is not established, it shall appoint two arbitrators for reconciliation or separation. Article 128 (1) The two arbitrators must be upright persons from the spouses' families if possible; otherwise, they shall be from others possessing sound understanding and the ability to bring about reconciliation.
