Article 1 of Weapons and Ammunition Law

In applying the provisions of this Law and its implementing regulations and decisions, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated opposite each: 1- Weapons: Rifles and pistols of all types and sizes capable of firing rounds capable of killing or injuring whomever they strike. 2- Cannon: A firearm with large-sized rounds capable of causing severe damage exceeding that of pistols or rifles. 3- Machine gun: A firearm resembling a rifle, but firing rapidly and automatically as long as the trigger is pressed. 4- Ammunition: Serviceable rounds intended for use in rifles, pistols and cannons. 5- Bladed and blunt weapons: Every cutting, piercing, smashing or bruising instrument used in assaults against persons, to be specified by decision of the Minister of Interior. 6- Dangerous air weapons: Air rifles and air pistols of calibre (6) mm( and above for both types, and other dangerous air weapons to be specified by decision of the Minister of Interior. 7- Prohibited places: Gathering places, public facilities, markets and commercial complexes, public means of transport, mosques and places of worship, educational establishments and other places to be specified by decision of the Minister of Interior.
