Article 57 of National Assembly Elections Law

An elected member of the Assembly may not combine membership with holding public office. If an employee is elected, he shall be deemed to have relinquished his employment unless he relinquishes his Assembly membership within the eight days following the day on which his election becomes final. The employee shall be granted official leave with full salary beginning on the day following the close of nominations until completion of the electoral process, during which period he may not exercise any of the powers of his office. This period shall be counted against his annual leave.
