Assessment of spousal maintenance in its various forms. A factual matter within the exclusive competence of the court of fact, provided it bases its ruling on adequate reasons grounded in the established record. - The wife's maintenance. Its basis. The marriage contract by which she is reserved for the husband's right; her maintenance is therefore payable from his property even if she is in her father's house, ready to obey him. Her refusal to do so without justification. Its effect. The husband may obtain a final judgment requiring her to enter into his obedience, and her maintenance is forfeited after it is established that she refused to execute that judgment after it was served upon her, thereby rendering her maritally disobedient.
