Kuwait Court of Cassation principle number 222

State of Kuwait · Administrative Law · Ministry of Justice — Court of Cassation — Technical Office

English translation of the principle

The granting of a passport is inseparably linked to Kuwaiti nationality and is a right of everyone whose possession of that nationality is established. The administrative authority may not deprive him of it without a justification or serious reason required by the public interest. If the administrative authority considers that such justification exists, its decision issued in this regard must disclose the particular reasons that prompted it. An example concerning the withdrawal of a passport based on valid grounds and free from the defect of contravention of the law.
