Sentencing an employee of Kuwait Airways to a penalty for a felony or a misdemeanor involving dishonor or dishonesty forfeits his right to remain in public office. His service must be terminated. Reason: loss of confidence in him and loss of the condition of good reputation which he must possess and which must not cease while he holds his position. Issuance of a judgment suspending execution of the sentence or refraining from pronouncing it. Does not necessarily terminate the employee’s employment relationship. The matter remains discretionary for the competent authority, provided that its assessment is free from abuse or misuse of power. Example. - Punishing the employee by dismissal.
