Judicial principle — Kuwait Court of Cassation

Kuwait Court of Cassation principle number 654

State of Kuwait · Criminal Procedure · Ministry of Justice — Court of Cassation — Technical Office

English translation of the principle

The judgment's reliance on the statements of the two prosecution witnesses. Its implication. - Judgments are not, as a rule, required to reproduce witnesses' statements except insofar as they form the basis of their rulings. - Recounting a witness's versions and specifying which of them the court found convincing and accepted. Unnecessary. It suffices for it to set out what it trusts and discard the rest. It may rely on the witness's statements at any stage of the proceedings. So long as it is satisfied with them.
