Kuwait Court of Cassation principle number 1293

State of Kuwait · Penal Law · Ministry of Justice — Court of Cassation — Technical Office

English translation of the principle

Law 64 of 1999 concerning Intellectual Property Rights contains no restriction on the Public Prosecution’s freedom to initiate criminal proceedings. - The plea that the proceedings are inadmissible because they were instituted without a request from the competent minister. Manifestly invalid. Disregarding it does not vitiate the judgment.
