English translation of the principle

Banking custom concerning banks' preservation of the confidentiality of customers' information and data. A fundamental pillar of the banking profession's activities. Its meaning. - The prohibition on a bank supplying a third party with any information about a customer's account. Does not apply vis-à-vis the customer who holds the account, the customer's heirs, or the customer's specially authorized agent within the limits permitted by the agency. The reason for this: they hold a right to what the bank discloses to them and are not third parties. The implication of this: regarding a company as a legal person independent and distinct from the persons of the partners composing it. Those persons or their heirs may not demand that the bank supply them with any information concerning the company's accounts and transactions with it. This right belongs to the company's legal representative in the capacity of its agent. This right does not pass to that representative's heirs.
