The female custodian's entitlement to receive the minor's maintenance. Its prerequisite. His being in her care. The reason: authority to expend maintenance depends on actual custody and ceases upon its cessation. Example of a judgment refusing to terminate maintenance because the minor remained in his mother's custody despite issuance of a judgment in favour of the father establishing his custody.
