English translation of the principle

The authority of the court of merits to ascertain the facts, assess and weigh evidence and documents, and derive judicial presumptions. Its constraints. - Basing the judgment on documents that do not in themselves lead to what it inferred from them, without explaining the effect of this presumption in forming its conviction. Unsound inference vitiating the judgment with deficient reasoning and requiring its cassation.
