An appeal petition produces its effect from the date it is deposited with the registry. Its service on the respondent or the court's delivery of a copy thereof to the respondent. A necessary procedure for constituting adversarial proceedings. It must be completed within thirty days from the date of deposit. Sanction for contravention thereof. Deeming the appeal as never having been brought. Condition thereof. - The thirty-day time limit prescribed for mandatory service after deposit of the petition. A time limit for appearance. Effect thereof: the respondent's appearance after the time limit does not extinguish his right to request imposition of the sanction of deeming the appeal as never having been brought.
