English translation of the principle

A lawyer admitted before the court must sign the statement of claim in an action whose value exceeds five thousand dinars, the petition of appeal, and the petition for reconsideration, except those filed by the Government. This signature constitutes an essential procedure. Noncompliance. Its effect. Nullity. Article 18 of Law 42 of 1964, as amended by Laws 30 of 1968 and 62 of 1996. - The wording of Article 18 of Law 42 of 1964 is clear and explicit in specifying the judicial documents covered by its rule, which do not include an application for a travel-ban order. The necessary consequence: an application for a travel-ban order, being an order on petition, falls outside the scope - 737 - Procedure of its application. Its validity therefore does not require that it be signed by a lawyer. Example.
