English translation of the principle

Summary: - Criminal courts are not bound by judgments issued by civil courts. A challenge on that basis is unfounded. An example. Rule: Whereas the challenged judgment expressed the court’s satisfaction that the offences of which it convicted the appellant were established on the basis of the sound evidence it cited, it is not thereafter vitiated by disregarding the contents of the judgment issued in the action brought by the victim company before the Commercial Court in the United Kingdom, No. 1212 of 1994, dated 17 December 1998, as stated in his grounds of appeal and assuming its correctness. Criminal courts are not bound by judgments issued by civil courts. Accordingly, the challenge in this regard is unfounded.
