Article 137 of Civil Code

1 - The guardian, even if selected by the father, shall have authority over the minor's property within the same limits prescribed by law for the Minors' Affairs Department, in its capacity as guardian or curator of persons lacking capacity or having diminished capacity. 2 - However, if guardianship is vested in someone other than the Minors' Affairs Department, the court's permission shall be required to carry out all dispositions that the law does not authorize the director of that Department to undertake alone. - In all cases, the guardian, in exercising authority over the minor's property, shall have no power exceeding that of the legal guardian, as defined by law.
