English translation
The agreed compensation shall not be due if the debtor proves that the creditor has suffered no damage, (1) Amended pursuant to Law No. 15 of 1996 Law Index 982 Home Page Civil Code Decree-Law No. 67 of 1980 AD Promulgating the Civil Code and the court may reduce the compensation below the agreed amount if the debtor proves that the assessment was greatly exaggerated, or that the obligation has been partially performed. Any agreement to the contrary shall be void.

لا يكون التعويض المتفق عليه مستحقا إذا أثبت المدين أن الدائن لم يلحقه ضرر،
(١) معدلة بموجب القانون رقم ١٥ لسنة ١٩٩٦
ويجوز للمحكمة أن تخفض التعويض عما هو متفق عليه إذا أثبت المدين أن التقدير
كان مبالغا فيه إلى درجة كبيرة، أو أن الالتزام قد نفذ في جزء منه. ويقع باطلاً كل
