As an exception to the provision of the preceding Article, a bidder's bid in auctions conducted in envelopes shall not lapse by reason of a better bid. The person inviting bids may accept whichever of the submitted bids he considers most suitable, unless a different intention of the contracting parties is apparent or the law provides otherwise.
