Article 106 of Constitution of the State of Kuwait

The Amir may, by decree, postpone the meeting of the National Assembly for a period not exceeding one month. Postponement may not be repeated during the same session except with the Assembly's consent and for one period only. The postponement period shall not be counted as part of the session. Article 107 (1) The Amir may dissolve the National Assembly by a decree stating the reasons for dissolution, provided that the Assembly may not be dissolved again for the same reasons. If the Assembly is dissolved, elections for the new Assembly must be held within a period not exceeding two months from the date of dissolution. If elections are not held within that period, the dissolved Assembly shall regain its full constitutional authority and meet immediately as though the dissolution had not occurred, and shall continue its work until the new Assembly is elected.
