Article 232 of Jaafari Personal Status Law

If the missing person's death becomes known during the 4 years or thereafter, but before the judge grants a divorce, the wife must observe the waiting period for his death. If, however, his death becomes known after the divorce and after expiry of the waiting period, she shall not be required to observe a death waiting period for him, whether or not she has married, and whether it becomes known that his death occurred before the commencement of the waiting period, after it, during it or after her marriage. If, however, his death becomes known to her during her waiting period, she must begin anew the waiting period for his death, and completion of her divorce waiting period shall not suffice.
