The dower must consist of something capable of lawful ownership: a tangible asset such as a house, land, money, or other assets; a benefit such as the use of an orchard or a car for a specified period; or teaching her a craft or a surah of the Quran.

يشترط في المهر أن يكون مما يصح تملكه من عين خارجية كدار أو أرض أو نقود
أو غيرها من الأعيان، أو منفعة كمنفعة بستان أو سيارة في مدة معينة، أو تعليمها
