Article 50 of Personal Status Law

Every invalid marriage other than that mentioned in the preceding article is considered defective, and consummation thereof entails: a - The obligation to pay the lesser of the specified dower and the dower of a comparable woman where a dower has been specified, and the dower of a comparable woman where none has been specified. b - Establishment of the children's parentage, subject to its conditions and with its consequences set out in this Law. c - The obligation to observe a waiting period following separation, whether consensual or judicial, or following death. d - The prohibition of marriage by affinity.
