Article 537 of Commercial Code

1 - If several cheques are presented at the same time and the funds available for payment are insufficient to pay Law Index 1334 Home Page Commercial Law Decree-Law No. 68 of 1980 Promulgating the Commercial Law all of them, their drawing dates must be observed. 2 - If the cheques presented are detached from a single book and bear a single date of issue, the cheque bearing the earlier number shall be deemed to have been drawn before the other cheques, unless the contrary is proved.
