A person who nominates himself for membership of the National Assembly must meet the following requirements: 1. He must be a Kuwaiti national by origin pursuant to Amiri Decree No. (15) of 1959 concerning the Kuwaiti Nationality Law and the laws amending it. 2. He must satisfy the requirements for an elector under this Law. 3. His name must be entered on one of the electoral rolls. 4. He must be proficient in reading and writing Arabic. h. His age on election day must not be less than thirty Gregorian years.

يشترط فيمن يرشح نفسه لعضوية مجلس الأمة ما يأتي:
١. أن يكون كويتي الجنسية بصفة أصلية وفقاً للمرسوم الأميري رقم (١٥)
لسنة ١٩٥٩ بقانون الجنسية الكويتية والقوانين المعدلة له.
٢. أن تتوافر فيه شروط الناخب وفقاً لهذا القانون.
٣. أن يكون اسمه مدرجاً في أحد جداول الانتخاب.
٤. أن يجيد قراءة اللغة العربية وكتابتها.
