Article 53 of National Assembly Elections Law

The following shall be punished by imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years and a fine of not less than two thousand Kuwaiti dinars and not exceeding five thousand Kuwaiti dinars, or by either of these two penalties: First: Anyone who uses force or threats to prevent a voter from exercising his right for another, to induce him to vote in a particular manner or to abstain from voting. Second: Anyone who resorts to deception publicly by any means of information or publication, or secretly through messages, telephone calls or intermediaries, to purchase voters' votes by enticement with money, or gives, offers or undertakes to give a voter anything of that kind to induce him to vote in a particular manner or to abstain from voting. Third: Anyone who accepts or requests a benefit of this kind for himself or for another. Fourth: Anyone who publishes or broadcasts among voters false news concerning the conduct or morals of a candidate with the intention of influencing the election result. Fifth: Anyone who enters the place designated for the assembly of voters carrying a weapon in violation of the provisions of Article (34) of this Law. Sixth: Anyone who changes or assists in changing the address specified for the electoral domicile to another domicile while knowing that such particulars are incorrect. Seventh: Anyone who steals, conceals, destroys or damages the electoral roll or any other paper relating to the electoral process, or alters the election result in any other manner. Eighth: Anyone who disrupts the freedom or order of the election by using force or threats, or by participating in a gathering, shouting or demonstrations. Ninth: Anyone who seizes or destroys the box containing the ballot papers. Tenth: Anyone who organizes, participates in organizing, or calls for primary elections. Eleventh: Anyone who uses places of worship or educational institutions to call for voting in favour of a particular candidate or to his detriment. Twelfth: Anyone who uses the funds of associations, trade unions, clubs or charitable institutions, or uses their premises, to call for voting in favour of a particular candidate or to his detriment.
