Article 17 of Law Regulating Expert Services

The expert's fees and expenses shall be assessed by an order issued upon petition by the president of the circuit that appointed him or by the judge of the Summary Court who appointed him, immediately upon the issuance of the judgment in the action, or after the passage of three months from the date of filing the report if judgment has not been issued within 1( The first paragraph was replaced pursuant to Law No. 25 of 2016 that period for reasons in which the expert had no part. If the expert was appointed by the Public Prosecution, the General Department of Investigations, or judicial arbitration bodies, his fees and expenses shall be assessed immediately upon his filing his report with the body that appointed him. The expert shall collect the amount assessed for him from the deposit, and the assessment order, as regards any amount exceeding it, shall be enforceable against the litigant who requested his appointment, as well as against the litigant ordered to pay the costs. The fees and expenses assessed for experts of the General Department of Experts shall be deemed due to the treasury of the Ministry of Justice.
