Article 1 of Family Court Law

A court called the Family Court shall be established in each governorate, shall have separate premises, and shall consist of circuits affiliated with the Court of First Instance and other circuits affiliated with the Court of Appeal, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction over appeals permitted by law against judgments rendered by the aforementioned circuits of the Court of First Instance. The premises of the Family Court must be prepared within a period not exceeding two years from the date this Law takes effect. Pending preparation of the court premises, the Supreme Judicial Council shall designate the premises of the Family Court circuits within the premises of the court circuits in all governorates of Kuwait.
