Article 26 of Decree-Law No. 11 of 2026 concerning Protection from Domestic Violence

All communications, correspondence, and procedures relating to domestic violence cases heard before any relevant entity shall enjoy complete confidentiality. The entities concerned may, in coordination with the Council, establish a system of identification codes (a special code for victims of domestic violence, with the aim of ensuring the confidentiality of their personal data during the receipt of reports, investigation and documentation procedures, and the provision of social, psychological, medical, and legal services, provided that the Executive Regulations specify the mechanism and controls for creating, managing, and exchanging these identification codes among the entities concerned.
