English translation of the principle

The legislature's requirement that there be official or private papers written in the testator's handwriting or bearing his seal, signature, or fingerprint. Article 214 of Law 51/1984. Its purpose: to verify that the action is supported by something indicating its validity. It has no effect on the underlying right and does not concern its substance. Its operation is limited merely to whether the action may or may not be heard. The denial because of which a testamentary action will not be heard is absolute denial. When denial is not taken into account. Where there is an acknowledgment that may be invoked against the opposing party.
