The underlying basis for prescribing consolatory maintenance is to redress the loneliness caused by the husband to the woman from whom he has separated and to console her. Divorce occurring with the wife's consent. Effect thereof. No loneliness and no pain, and consequently no entitlement to consolatory maintenance. Example of establishing the wife's marital disobedience.
