English translation of the principle
The court of merits has authority to ascertain and understand the facts of the case, assess the evidence and documents submitted to it, and infer the presumptions on which it relies in forming its conviction. Condition thereof: its inference must be reasonable, supported by a basis established in the case papers, and this evidence must be among the legally recognized means of proof. An example of an unreasonable inference unsupported by the case papers, vitiating the judgment by defective reasoning.
