Judicial principle — Kuwait Court of Cassation

Kuwait Court of Cassation principle number 1005

State of Kuwait · Criminal Procedure · Ministry of Justice — Court of Cassation — Technical Office

English translation of the principle

Assessment that the accused is unfamiliar with Arabic and needs an interpreter. A matter of fact, as it is one of the factual issues in the case. - The prosecutor's recording during the investigations and when interrogating the appellant that he was familiar with Arabic, and interrogating him without an interpreter's assistance. His trial at first instance without an interpreter and without requesting one before the court of merits at either level. The challenge thereto in this regard is misplaced.
Arabic original
