Judicial principle — Kuwait Court of Cassation

Kuwait Court of Cassation principle number 207

State of Kuwait · Criminal Procedure · Ministry of Justice — Court of Cassation — Technical Office

English translation of the principle

The police’s task is to detect offences and identify their perpetrators. The procedures they take in this regard are valid. The condition for this: that they do not intervene by their own actions to create the offence through deception or incitement to commit it, and that the perpetrator’s will remain free and not extinguished. An example concerning the officer involved directing his confidential source to attempt to purchase some of the narcotics possessed by the accused with intent to trade.
