State of Kuwait · Civil Matters — Volume 10 · Ministry of Justice — Court of Cassation — Technical Office

English translation of the principle

The new law applies immediately upon coming into force to legal positions formed after its entry into force, and with direct effect to future effects arising from previous legal positions. The exception. The effects of dispositions concluded under the old law remain subject to it unless its provisions relate to public order. An example concerning heirs’ disposition of a government house owned by the deceased without the approval of the Public Housing Authority after the issuance of Law 20 of 1992.
