The legislature’s requirement that a non-lawyer representative appearing for a litigant at hearings have a marital relationship or kinship by blood or marriage up to the fourth degree is confined to attendance at hearings. Anyone other than these persons may prepare statements of claim, sign them and submit them to the Registry, unless the law requires a lawyer’s signature. Example: signing the statement of claim by someone not included in Article 45 of the Procedure Law. Its effect. No invalidity.
