Judicial principle — Kuwait Court of Cassation

Kuwait Court of Cassation principle number 1560

State of Kuwait · Pleadings — Part Three · Ministry of Justice — Court of Cassation — Technical Office

English translation of the principle

The appellate court’s confining itself to varying the appealed judgment. It is obliged to give reasons only for the part covered by the variation. The part not covered is as though it had been affirmed. The reasons of the first-instance judgment remain standing even if the appellate judgment contains no express reference to them.
