English translation of the principle

Cassation of a judgment. Its effect. It is deemed never to have existed, all effects arising from it cease, the litigants return to their positions preceding its rendition, and subsequent judgments for which that judgment formed the basis are annulled. This annulment occurs by operation of law. Without the need for another judgment ordering it.
