Judicial principle — Kuwait Court of Cassation

Kuwait Court of Cassation principle number 2553

State of Kuwait · Pleadings — Part Three · Ministry of Justice — Court of Cassation — Technical Office

English translation of the principle

Grounds of appeal. Their purpose: ensuring the seriousness of the challenge, not defining its scope. It suffices to set them out briefly or to include some of them in the statement; the appellant may add to them without being bound by the appeal period or service thereof, and the Court of Appeal may rely on other grounds. Unlike an appeal in cassation, which is considered solely through its grounds detailed in its statement, to the exclusion of others, unless they concern public policy.
