Article 122 of Civil Code

The court may, upon the application of the Department of Minors’ Affairs or any interested party, appoint a special guardian for the minor, whose authority it shall define, to exercise guardianship over the minor in a particular matter whenever the minor’s interests so require. It may do so in particular: (a) If the minor’s interests conflict with the interests of his legal guardian, the interests of the latter’s spouse, or the interests of a person over whose property the latter exercises guardianship. (b) If the minor’s interests conflict with the interests of the appointed guardian, his spouse, any of their ascendants or descendants, or the interests of a person over whose property he exercises guardianship.
