Article 788 of Civil Code

1 - Except for life insurance contracts, it may be agreed, pursuant to a clause written distinctively in the policy, that the insurance contract shall be extended automatically if the insured does not notify the insurer, at least thirty days before the expiry of its term, of his wish not to extend the contract. 2 - Such extension shall take effect only one year at a time. Any agreement for the extension of the insurance for a period exceeding that shall be void.
