Article 57 of Juveniles Law

If the act constituting the crime occurred under the influence of a mental or psychological illness or mental deficiency that deprived the juvenile of the capacity for perception and choice, or if, at the time of the crime, he was suffering from a pathological condition that seriously impaired his perception or freedom of choice, he shall be ordered to be placed in a specialized hospital or treatment institution. This measure shall also be taken, in accordance with the procedures prescribed in this Law, in respect of anyone who develops any of these conditions during the investigation or after judgment has been rendered.
