If the husband apostatizes after conversion, meaning that he was not originally a Muslim but embraced Islam and thereafter apostatized, his wife must observe the waiting period for divorce, three menstrual cycles if she is among those who menstruate, and otherwise three months, if he has consummated the marriage with her.

إذا ارتد الزوج عن ملة، أي أنه لم يكن في الأصل مسلما ولكنه أسـلـم وارتــد بـعـد
ذلك، فعلى زوجته أن تعتد بعدة الطلاق، ثلاث قروء ، إن كانت من ذوي الإقراء
