English translation
Neither the father, the grandfather, nor anyone else has guardianship in marriage over a legally competent adult, whether a man or a woman; rather, that person independently holds authority over his or her own marriage. The exception is a virgin girl with her father or grandfather, for guardianship in marriage is shared between her and them, and her marriage shall not take effect without her permission and the permission of either of them. If both are present, the permission of either suffices, and if they disagree, the grandfather shall have priority.

ليس للأب والجد ولا غيرهما الولاية في التزويج على البالغ الرشيد رجلاً كان أو
امرأة، بل يستقل بالولاية على تزويج نفسه، إلا في البنت البكر مع أبيها أو جدها
فإن الولاية في التزويج تشترك بينها وبينهما، فلا ينفذ نكاحها إلا بإذنها وإذن أحدهما،
