Article 325 of Personal Status Law

In the second group, the nearer in degree among them shall take precedence over the more remote, even if of a different line. Where the degree is equal and the line is the same, the stronger in kinship shall take precedence if they are children of a residuary heir or children of distant kindred. If they differ, the child of a residuary heir shall take precedence over the child of distant kindred. Where the lines differ, two-thirds shall go to the father’s relatives and one-third to the mother’s relatives, and what falls to each group shall be divided among it in the foregoing manner. The provisions of the two preceding paragraphs shall apply to the two groups: the fourth and the sixth.
