Article 11 of Audiovisual Media Law

The licensee is prohibited from broadcasting or rebroadcasting anything that would: 1- Impugn the Divine Being, the angels, the Holy Quran, the prophets, the virtuous Companions, the wives of the Prophet—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—or the Household—peace be upon them—by affront, disparagement, ridicule, preference, or any means of expression provided for in Article 29 of Law No. 31 of 1970 amending certain provisions of Penal Code No. 16 of 1960. 2- Incite the overthrow of the system of government in the country or urge the change of that system Law Index 514 Home Page Audiovisual Media Law Law No. 61 of 2007 concerning Audiovisual Media by force or unlawful means, or advocate the use of force to change the social and economic system existing in the country, or the adoption of doctrines aimed at demolishing the fundamental systems in Kuwait by unlawful means. 3- Subject the person of His Highness the Amir of the country to criticism, or attribute a statement to him except with special permission from the Amiri Diwan. 4- Belittle or disparage the Constitution of the State, or incite violation of its provisions. h- Insult or belittle members of the judiciary or members of the Public Prosecution, or constitute an affront to the integrity and impartiality of the judiciary. 6- Offend public morals, incite violation of public order or violation of laws, or the commission of crimes. 7- Disclose news of official secret communications or agreements and treaties concluded by the Government of Kuwait before their publication in the Official Gazette, except with special permission from the ministry concerned. 8- Affect the value of the national currency, lead to undermining confidence in the country's economic situation, or reveal the bankruptcy of merchants, commercial companies, banks, or money changers without special permission from the competent court. 9- Disclose what takes place in any official meeting or what is written in documents, instruments, decrees, or any papers or publications that the Constitution or the law declares confidential or not to be published. 10- Infringe upon the dignity of persons, their private lives, or their religious beliefs. 11- Advocate or incite hatred or contempt of any group in society. 12- Infringe upon the private life of an employee or a person entrusted with a public service, or attribute to him untrue statements or acts involving personal disparagement or abuse of him. 13- Harm relations between Kuwait and other Arab or friendly states, if this is done through media campaigns. 14- Cause the channel to depart from the purpose of the licence granted to it.
